Hanita Lenses launches a joint venture with Ophthalmic Vision Care in the Iberian Peninsula
Madrid, April 1st 2022 – Hanita Lenses, announced a new joint venture with Ophthalmic Vision Care (OVC), Madrid-Spain.
OVC was an exclusive distributor of Intraocular lenses (IOLs) of Hanita Lenses in Spain since 2016.
The joint venture, named Hanita Iberica, merges between the asset of OVC, as an experienced service provider of disposables and surgical equipment in the Spanish market, with a focus on innovative Hanita Lenses products, providing a great opportunity to Spanish doctors.
“We are thrilled to initiate this journey with Hanita Lenses. The combined joint effort over the years proved that our shared work to promote ophthalmic products in the Spanish market is fruitful. This next step will help to elevate our business to new heights in Spain,” said Viscente Castellanos, owner of OVC.
The company will initiate sales of intraocular lenses (IOLs), surgical packs and ophthalmic viscoelastic devices (OVDs) throughout Spain and expand to Portugal in the following years.

Cataract surgeries are a steady growing segment in ophthalmology, driven by innovative technologies supplied to steadily growing aging populations. The Spanish surgeon is known for being an early adopter of innovation, and therefore, we have a opportunity to provide the first pentafocal lens, Intensity followed by new launches expected in the forthcoming years.

The official signing ceremony took place on January 27th 2022 and the actual startup of the joint venture took place on April 1st 2022.
