The new year, 2020 began with a lot of enthusiasm. We all had our goals and plans set forth and we were ready for action.

Covid-19 has caught the world by surprise and all of our predefined goals needed to be re-adjusted, we had to re-plan, re-think, and re-strategize.

With the introduction and launch of our new “Intensity” lens, I personally had a plan on growing existing markets and opening new markets.

Surprisingly it worked; Japan had embraced our innovative polyfocal IOL – the Intensity.

I would like to take this opportunity and welcome our new partner in Japan, Technopia.

Rodolfo Fajardo, Sales and Marketing director LATAM Spain and Portugal (Iberia):

2020 was not the year we all expected due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Despite its huge impact, Hanita was able to continue its search for new partners and collaborators in LATAM and Iberia territories, and have added Costa Rica and Portugal to the existing partners.

Costa Rica is a country with a population of 5 million and is well known for its beautiful beaches and delicious coffee.

The distributor Latin Health is a recent player in the Ophthalmology field and is focused on promoting Hanita’s premium lenses.

Portugal is a country with a population of 10 million and is well known for its codfish and olive oil.

The distributor Optifar is a company that has long experience in Ophthalmology and is currently engaged in heavy promoting of our latest technology, the Intensity lens.

Hanita’s European territory was hectic this year, despite of one of the worst world’s pandemics; we at Hanita lenses have not stopped our investments in new innovative products.

Some new companies noticed our products and efforts, and we are proud to say that we presently have three new partnerships in leading European countries.

Ukraine, The Netherlands and UK have joined Hanita Lenses network’s distribution success, worldwide.

With a total population of over 125 M and more than 1 M cataract surgeries, this is an enormous achievement – and we are not stopping there …

Intensity IOL from scratch

Following development period of 3 years we launched the Intensity IOL in 2020.

The IOL has been developed by employing a unique algorithm, the Dynamic Light Utilization technology, for maximal light efficiency that transcends the traditional boundaries of conservative diffractive IOL patterns, bringing unprecedented vivid vision to cataract patients and increases quality of life for them enabling them to perform the full range of day to day activities.
