The Continuity Of Vision Inspired Us To Create Active IOL

Active lens was inspired by FullRange IOL technology. In its initial configuration, FullRange was planned to provide same functionality as a bifocal lens; however during development and multiple optimizations we have obtained a lens that not only provides sharp far and near vision, but also fully functional vision for intermediate range, with 98% to 99% patients reporting to not need help of spectacles when using computer.

This continuity of vision inspired us to create Active IOL, designed to provide continuous functional vision from far to intermediate distance.

The Active lens is targeted at patients whose lifestyle involves a variety of intermediate activities in arm's length such as cooking, working with instruments or using a computer screen. Patients implanted with the Active IOL had average UCVA of 1.0 and Defocus curve above 0.9 in the range between 0 to -1.5 diopters.

As the lens shares same material, design and accurate polish-free production process with the well-established FullRange IOLs, this brings multiple advantages such as low YAG rate, low levels of visual disturbances and high patient satisfaction.
